CA18DET Installation 4 - Fuel System

My idea for the fuel system is to run a lift
pump, surge tank and EFI pump and filters in an enclosed metal box in
the boot space of the coupe. As a coupe has no rear firewall, thought
I'd protect the pumps with the box. I then plan to run my fuel lines in
the cabin for ease and stop them getting damaged if the underside of the
car hits something.
Fuel System: Here's my carter black lift pump. I got
smart and drew some white arrows on it to indicate flow direction (as
you can't read the in and out stamps once it's mounted on its bracket)
Here's the bracket - I trial fit it to some cardboard to
get the idea of where to put it.
Mount bracket to wall, then pump to bracket, much easier
that way I found.
To try and get an idea of what size enclosure I put all
the other components together, surge tank, fuel filter and EFI fuel
pump.
With a rough size in mind I connected up all the fuel
hoses to see what it would look like
This finished product, also where I think it will go in
the back of the coupe
Now some piping to the carter to see how that fits in.
Looks pretty good.
So the next mission was to find a metal box to put all
these pumps in. Went on a bit of a fact finding tour.
With all the measurements in hand checked it out against
a cardboard base to see if the smallest box would be big
enough....looked OK to me
Went back on bought it...looks pretty good
Need to mount that Carter pump in here....
Now connect it up to the surge tank
Next up is fuel pipes....as I bought a piece of shit
pipe bender stuck for now - picked up a nicer one of ebay, hopefully
it'll arrive soon.
