So next attempt at installing engine and box
is the ca18det_man method as I call it. Which is get rid of the engine
mounts on crossmember and block, jack up gearbox into the engine bay and
try to get the two to meet in the middle. Let's see how easy it really
is.
Engine mounts off
Drop sway bar
Undo idler arm so steering rack will hang loose
Drop engine in...thanks to the boy
Lift up gearbox....hmmm not high enough
More height and more angle on engine
Got some bolts started this time, then was able to do
the rest up
Engine mounts back on
Starter motor on
Bolt engine to crossmember and gearbox to floor
Bonnet back on!
Almost forgot idler arm and sway bar
I also connected the tailshaft and all fits, so next
stop is fuel system.
